The committee composed of the Dominion High Commissioners is completing its inquiry into the affairs of the Imperial Institute (founded to promote inter-imperial trade in rawmaterial), the future of which is dependent on its findings. Australia a support lias been lukewarm, but Now Zealand is enthusiastic. Sir James Allen (New Zealand High Commissioner) told a representative of “The .Sun" that the Institute was si arving for want of money and of Dominion support. It stood for a great
Imperial ideal, and was a splendid um lying influence, apart from its practical 0 uses. “In these days,” ho added, “v.hen the Dominions are feeling their strength and their tendency is to act on their own, it is very important to keep alive such Imperial strings, which tend to hold us together.”
