LIVE STOCK SALES.

SALE OF STUD SHEEP. At Waimate yesterday Messrs pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., held a complete dispersal sale of the whole of Mr Joseph Douthwaice’s stud Border Leicester sheep. The sa.e aroused more than ordinary interest, buyers being present from various parts of New Zealand and some from Australia. The sheep were offered in splendid order and keen competition was expei'ienced for all the lots. The first lot offered was a 2-sliear Imported ram, “Gay Wallace,” bred by Mr D. P. Elliott, of Scotland.

After spirited bidding Gris sire was rinallv sold to Mr G. P. Johnstone. Gore, for 55gns. A ram lamb sired by “Gay Wallace” from a selected ewe was knocked down to Messrs Little-Low, at 4 ogns. A one-shear ewe sired by "Cavalier Blend ported) was purchased by Mr v. .1. butler, of New South Wales, at _J gns. The next lot was a ewe lamb bv the same sire. This was bought by Mr R. J.
