Mr Herbert Hoover, in a statement 6aid that the Ruhr occupation was causing serious interference with American commerce, although it may be due to confusion attending the occupation, rather than to the French governmental policy of obstruction. Scores of important American business groups, particularly drug and dye trades, are endeavouring to obtain an Administration protest against French methods in tho Ruhr.
