TIMARU CIROUIT,

The quarterly meeting of the officials of the Methodist Churoh of New Zealand, Timaru Circuity was held last evening in the Wainiataitai Churoh, when the Re:'. W. A. Hay presided over a good attendance. Votes of condolence were accorded to the relatives of Mrs IVm. Cody, of Wellington (nee Ellis), and Messrs Ferrier and F. Mathews. The Circuit stewards presented the financial report for the quarter, showing receipts £347 7s Bd, including a credit balanco from last quarter; expenditure £3OO 4s 3d. An average collection from tlie balanco was voted to the Centenary Fund—£2l. It was decided to invest a further sura in the P. 0.5.8, .Special collections were allowed to Woodlands Street, and Pareora East (Church Anniversaries), Kensington. (Trust), and Waimataitai (Harvest Thanksgiving!. The organising secretary of the I oung People’s Department (the Rev. E. P. Clamires) forwarded a suggested programme for the. children’s year (1923). A special committee was set up to deal with this matter and report to the next meeting. Mr Stead reported that £la2 had been raised for the Conference Home Mission Fund during the year, which was an advance on last year’s amount. About £164 had also been raised for Foreign Missions. ' Messrs W. G. Irwin and W. J. Rosevear were re-elected Circuit stewards for the ensuing year. Eulogistic reference was made to the efficient manner in which they had conducted the financial arrangements of the Circuit during the past year#. Tlie following wore elected its representatives to the Conference to he held in Dunedin commencing on February 21Messrs Irwin and Rvadoliffe, with Messrs W. J. Brooker and J. A.
