WINTER SHOW.

The annual' meeting of the Winter Show Association was held in Barford’s Tea Booms on Wednesday night. There were present: Messrs W. G. Paul (chairman), A. Woods, G. Duncan, 0. Car bis, E. Dunstan, G. &. Meredith, A. iSegar, W. P. George, C. Creba, F. Wilce, W. Wild, L. Betten, W. Tooley, J. Betten, W. Grainger and F. Wilson. The annual balance sheet* shewed receipts £l3B 18s 8d and expenditure £137 19s 6d, leaving a credit balance of 19s 2d. The Chairman expressed Ins thanks to all those who had assisted at the last show, and also to the donors of special prizes. Although they did not show a large credit, a lot of money had been spent in improvements. At the present time they had property to the value of £2OO, which showed a very satisfactory state of affairs. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr W. G. Paul (re-elected); vice-presidents —Messrs J. Betten, C. Creba, F. Pollock and G. S. Meredith; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. b. George; auditor, Mr Lee; committee— Messrs J. Dench, C. Coventry, W. Geddes, A. Veitch, M. MacDonald, W. Beer, F. Wilce, W. Barford, E. B. Wright, A. McComas, H. Wilson, A. Seaur, W. Grainger, W. Strachan, A. Bov, B, Smith, W. E. Tooley, J. McClure, Chamberlain, J. Duncan, W. Wild, H. Harrison, ]un., E. Dunstain, L. A. Betten, jun., and W. J. Mr C. Hood was elected a member of the Association. ' It was agreed that Messrs Lee and Collett should be authorised to operate on the bank account. The secretary was instructed to torward the schedule for the fruit section to the Waimate and M aituna Association and ask them to revise the 8a The South Island Pigeon and Canary Association wrote suggesting Juno I and 2 or June 29 and 30 for the show dates. It was decided to adopt Juno 29 and 30 as the dates for the annual were donated by Messrs G. S. Meredith (Leghorn) E. Hasten (White Leghorn, open class), and Messns Betten and Wilce (fo; all heavy breeds). Mr Paul said that he would see that a cup was donated for the fruit section.
