CLOSING PERFORMANCE,

i The attendance at tlio i neat re no) ;u last evening, when the second presentation of “Cinderella,” the juvenile' comedietta took place, did nob come up to expectations. Nevertheless, the ondldren had profited considerably by their previous experience, and the performance went with a.swing. _ The cast found no difficulty in ‘ delivering their various lines, and the voice of the prompter was seldom necessary. Tho great stumbling block in amateur performances, especially juvenile productions and the strain put upon the little artists in sustaining their characterisations —was successfully overcome in , most cases, the performers showing ‘that much confidence had been required. The musical portion also im- ■, proved considerably, and the various i songs and dances were got through in ia creditable manner. Among those who particularly distinguished themselves at the opening on Monday night, and : whoso success was repeated last wight, : was Miss Block ley, whose toe dances and pretty pirouetting over the stage were warmly applauded. There was no lack of applause, and the children have reason to feel gratified with their general improvement. The two worthy objects in aid of which ! “Cinderella” was produced should ! benefit substantially and those responsible for the dressing, scenery, and! general effects have reason to be proud of the whole production.
