THE BATTLE OF IN ISH ANX ON. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON. Feb. 15. A large party of Republicans ambushed a train at Inishaimon. Forty military aboard tho train replied to tlie attackers’ fire, and a fierce buttle followed. Six soldiers were wounded, three seriously, and two rebels were killed. Five male passengers and one female were killed, and two railway officers and several others were wounded. Received 5.5 p.m., Feb. IGtli. Tlie Inishaimon light was an appalling affair. When, tho train reached the station at lenst 50 armed civilians wero drawn up on the platform. Studio rs were travelling in the carriages next the engine, and a number of civilian passengers were with them. Sinn Feiners directed a volley into the carriages, which wero largely occupied by civilians. Tho soldiers immediately replied vigorously, and battle fire intensity followed for twenty minutes. Eight civilian passengers were killed outright, and several others wounded. Apparently only two soldiers wore wounded. Two Sinn Feiners are known to he killed, and two were taken prisoners. It is not known how many are wounded. The whole train, from engine to guard’s van, was under rifle fire, and presented a ghastly spectacle when tho train arrived at Skebbereen. ESCAPE OP A MURDERER, LONDON, Feb. 15. Mr Bealo, manager of a Cork vino merchant's business, is missing. It is believed that ho has been kidnapped. His father-in law and the latter’s son were kidnapped and shot in December. Francis Teeling, who was sentenced to death for the murder of Lieutenant McMahon during the _ Dublin murders, escaped from Kilmainham gaol. One report states that Sinn Feiners attached tho gaol and . carried off Teeling. Dublin Castle denies the reported starvation in AVestl Kerry, and states that there is no embargo on foodstuffs, which are plentiful in the district. THE TEELING RESCUE. Tho Teeling rescue was daringly carried out. Confederates arrived at Kilmainham in a motor lorry, armed with an alleged warrant for the transfer of Teeling to another prison. The authorities appear to liavo been completely duped. ANOTHER DEADLY SKIRMISH. Received 5.5 p.m., February 16. LONDON, February 16. A motor lorry full of troops was ambushed near Mourne Abbey by Mallow attackers, who. used bombs, rifles, and revolvers, but tho -bombs missed, and tho military returned tho tiro, routing the attackers. Other lorries cut off the retreat, and. a desperate fight ensued. The official report states that one attacker was killed, six taken prisoner, and one seriously wounded. A number of subsequent arrests was made. Tlie military suffered no casualties. An unofficial report states that seven attackers were killed. BEALE’S FATE. A farmer driving cows to a field outside Cork found tho body of Beale, with four wounds and a. card attached to the neck inscribed: “Convicted spy. Penalty for all associating with Auxiliaries and Black and Tans. Police beuvare!” SINN FEINERS ESCAPE. LONDON, February 15. In addition to Teeling, two rebels escaped from Kilmainham gaol. Carty, a wounded Sinn Feiner, escaped from Derry prison hospital by wrenching an iron bar from a window, letting himself down by a rope, and scaling a prison wall. He then climbed into an empty houso and reached the street. Carty previously escaped from Sligo prison.
