Alderman McSweeney, Lord Mayor I of Cork, was court-martiailed, charged with seditious speecli and with having in his possession a secret police code, and also documents tlie publication of which was calculated to cause disaffection in Ireland. McSweeney, looking ill owing to hunger strike, said:—"i am, Lorct Mayor and Chief Magistrate.
