A few weeks ago (says the "Otago Daily Times") correspondence reached lis from more; than one source .representing that the ptagOrLahd-Board had sanctioned the transfer of a small grazing ruuviivthe Macraes district from a man who was described as a military deserter 'to his brother , We submitted thsse l-epresentations to tlh.fr officials'of the board, by whom inquiries respecting the matter were thereupon instituted, the formar consent to tile transfer being withheld in the meantime, and an application to have the transaction completed;,being •not' entertained.
