NEW YORK, August According to an announcement of the United States -Shipping Board, more than a. million , and a half deadweight tons of shipping has been added to the American merchant marine by various means since the nation's cnirv into the \y;ir up to August 15. For the week ending August 15 ten ships, of a, total deadweight tonnage of 81,700 tons were completed, seven of wljieh are steel and three wood. An extraordinary heat wave reduced the number of ships launched in the same period.
