ANOTHER CONFERENCE ON BUS STRIKE. Received 5.5 p.m., August 22nd. LONDON, August 22. Following on the bus strike conference telegrams wore sent to various provincial unions requesting delegates to attend an adjourned conference, at which a report would bo given of an interview with Sir George- Askwith. RESULT OF CONFERENCE. Tlio vehicle workers ail a strike conference agreed that tlio question should be referred to the Committee on Production. It is hoped that the services will ho resumed on Friday. APPROXIMATE SETTLEMENT. ' REACHED. Received 0.25 a.m., August 23rd. The unions concerned in the bus and bam strike reached an approximate settlement. .After nearly five hours' conference with Sir George Askwith they agreed on the terms of reference to tiio Committee of Production. The- executive uf the committee endorsed the terms, which will be submitted to a. m:«-«s meeting of strikers to-day. Tlio tern-s include resumption of work pending "reference on the elaint that an p.-junl tjtul i.aymcnt should ho made to women as to men for eoual work. The committee's award will be issued as speedily as possible.
