STRIKE AT SWANSEA". Australian and N.Z. Ctble Assnm „ LONDON. August 21. The Swansea Harbour Trust railway men have, gone on strike, owing to dissatisfaction with tho Government's wages and award. The work at the port is at a standstill. Many factories have threatened to close owing to the shortage of coal and raw materials. NATION-WIDE THREAT. A joint national conference of tram, bus and other vehicle workers, also dockers and general workers passed a resolution demanding the immediate nationwide- recognition of the principleof equal pay for equal work, otherwise the workers will take immediate drastic action.
