ABOLITION OF UPPER HOUSE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assa SYDNEY, This Dav. In the State Assembly, Mr Estell, Minister of Labour, gave notice of motion that a referendum be taken at the next elections on the abolition of the Upper House.
MEAT PRICES CRISIS. Received 9.20 p.m., June 13th. MELBOURNE, June 13In the House of Representatives the Opposition consistently stonewalled the Supply B:ll, in order to force the Minister to make a definite statement with reference to meat prices.
AUSTRALIAN WOOL BOUGHT. In the Federal House of Representatives Mr -Watt announced that the Imperial Government had extended the purchase of Australian wool clips for a period covering the currency of the war and one full year after its termination at a flat rate of Is 31d a pound for greasy, plus charges to cover expenses from warehouse to f.o.b. steamer. It is_ estimated that the returns for two clips only will exceed one hundred millions.
