ODDFtJLLOWSIIIi > . FAKEWELLIXG A MEMBER. The fortnightly meeting ol the Loyal Timaru Lodge, 1.U.0.i'.. M.U., was held on Wednesday evening, Bio. A. I*. Gourl.'ty, N.G., presiding ovor a very large attendance of members. The sick visitor reported iivo members on tho siek list, and three declared oil'. The visitor said the list of sick members was the highest for some conconsiderable time. The auditor, Bro. Nicol, P.G., read the half-yearly balance sheet, which was adopted, the members expressing their appreciation of tho excellent financial position of tho Lodge. The election of N.G. took place, resulting in of - Bro. Poden, who was dnlv installed by Bro: Earl, P.P.G.M., Bio Brown, P.P.G.M., assisting. Bro. i'oclen promised to do Lis uttermost to prove of the honour comerred upon him, and to merit tho members good opinion. Bro. McKitterick being in attendance, was presented with a. P.G.'s sash by the N.U., from the Lodge, and he suitably replied. After the Lodge closed the members remained to bid farewell to Bro. Gourlay, who is shortly leaving Timaru for Christehurch. Bro. Simpson, P.P.G.31., in an excellent speech, referred to Bro. Gourlay's many good qualities as an Oddfellow, iind dwelt on how much his departure would be felt. Bro. Oborn, P.G.S., endorsed Bro. Simpson's remarks and spoke of Bro. Gourlay as a true Oddfellow and wished him every success. Bro. Gourlay m reply said he would always carry with him pleasant recollections of evenings spent with the members. Refreshments were handed round, and tho singing of "Old Lang Syne" terminated a very pleasant evening. ORDER OF DRUIDS. TIMARU LODGE ANNIVERSARY.
The 3oth anniversary of the Druids Lodge was celebrated on Wodncsday evening in the Arcade Cafe, by a card match with the Oddfellows A. G, in which the Druids proved victorious. After supper had been done justice to, toasts and songs became the order of the evening, Bro. J. T. Collins proving an excellent chairman.
The toast of The Visitors was proposed by Bro. F. C. Watson in his well known humorous manner, and was responded to by the Vice-Grand. Bro. Donnelly proposed The Druids., and complimented the Lodge on the. progress it had made since its inception, iind wished ,it every success in tu<, future. Bros. Watson and J. Bouldon, two Charter members of the Lodge, ga.va .omo interesting reminscences of the start of the Lodge. Bro. Bring proposed Our Bovs on Active Service, and spoke o" the cood name the New Zealand soldiers have at the Front, and the hope Mas expressed that we should have them soon back again.
