SUBMARINE WAR.
GERMAN' ADMIRALTY
"CORRECTS" BRITISH REPORTS AMSTERDAM, August 28. A German Admiralty communique says: One of our submarines on the 16th destroyed by gunfire a benzol fac- j torv, with its storehouse, and coke fur- J nacos were attacked near Harrington. ! The British report of an attack on the open towns of Harrington, Parton and Whitehaven is incorrect. A large passenger steamer, probably a royal mail steam packet was fired at and miesed by the same submarine on the 15th from
a great distance in the Irish Sea. I The British announcement of the
destruction of a submarine off Ostend is inexact. The submarine was attacked but was not hit, and returned to port undamaged.
