German inspired statements in neutral Press that French shell gas blinded many German, troops is officially denied, as such gas is not employed. It is pointed out that the allegation may prelude a fresh inhuman German device. BOMBARDING GERMAN TRENCHES. Received 12.25 a.m., Aug. 30th> PARIS, August 29. A communriquo states: — German trenches in the districts of Nieuport, Hetsas, and east of the LillJe road and northward of Arras have been effectively bombarded.
