ZEEBRUGGE. WAS EFFECTIVELY BOMBARDED. Received'- 6 p.m., August 27th. AMSTERDAM, August 26. The "Tyd" states that great number of soldiers were killed by the British bombardment of Zeebrugge and ninety severely wounded -Tore brought to Ghent. Material damage was done to a great submarine shed and some submarines were completely destroyed. END OF El 3. WHAT A DANISH FISHERMEN SAW. Received 7.40 p.m., Aug. 27th. LONDON, Aug. 26. A Danish fisherman states that he passed El 3 on Thursday morning, and offered to take off the crew, and his assistance was courteously declined. A few hours afterwards German destroyers arrived. ■ The British were entering their boats when the men were summoned to return to the submarine by.blasts of the whistle. Tliey coolly returned to their stations on deck, some calmly commencing to play cards, and two youngsters became absorbed in a game of chess. The Germans drew closer, the British not taking the faintest notice. A torpedo was fired exploded close to the submarine. WyOrds of command rang out. The crew dressed and stood at attention, directly facing the enemy, motionless as graven images, when the Germans fired a broadside.
