AERIAL WARFARE.
ALLIED AIRMEN BUSY. A FLEET OF SIXTY. Received 8.10 p.m., August 27tli. PARIS, August 27. Our aeroplanes on Wednesday bombed cantonments at Dannes and Bausliant, causing fires; also'railway stations and bivouacs at Grand Pre Chatel, Cernay, Fieviles, an aviation park at \ itry, railway station at Bois Leux. A combined bombardment by sixty French, Belgian, and British aviators, including British navy aeroplanes, caused several fires in the forest of Houthulet. All the machines returned. A French squadron dropped twentyseven shells on the railway station at Noyon. C THE. GERMAN VERSION. AMSTERDAM, August 26. A German communique states: Two hostile air squadrons bombed the valley above and below Saarlonis. Several people were killed and wounded, but the material damage was unimportant. The squadrons were successfully attacked by our airmen., and lost four machines. The pilot and observer in one instance were killed, and the occupants •tf another were made prisoners.
