There was a large attendance at the Caroline Bay Hall yesterday afternoon when the Waimataitai school broke up for the term holidays, and the pupils gave a concert in aid of the piano fund. The concert was an excellent one and resulted in £lO being raised for the" purpose named. The Mayor and Mayoress were in attendance and after his "Worship had delivered an address Mrs Guinness gave out the certificates gained by those who got on the honours list for the term. A roll of honour of ex-pupils of the school who have gone to the war was also read. This and the term honours list are unavoidably held over until to-morrow.

The annual meeting of the Tima.ru Scottish Society was held last night in the Arcade Cafe, Chief Angus McLeod presiding over a very large attendance. A lengthy report was submitted bv the hon. secretary, Mr_"W. D. Hume' this being of a very satisfactory nature, as was also the balance sheet, which disclosed a credit of £ls.
