Mrs_ Selig, who was wellknown to old identities in New Zealand, was in her ninety-fifth year. She was the mother of Mr P. Selig, manager of the Christchnrch ic Pfess" Co. A large number of Mr Owen ConHolly's friends and neighbours assembled in the dinihgroom of the Studholme Junction Hotel to say farewell to him and to Mr and Mrs John Quiim, who are leaving Studholme. Hie toast of "The Guests" was entrusted to Mi 4 H. Shrimpton, who referred in complimentary terms to the many kindnesses extended by them to their neighbours, especially by Mrs Quihn, in time of sickness. Mr John Murray then, oil behalf of those present and a great many who were unavoidably absent, presented Sir Connolly with a shaving outfit; Mr Quinn with .a pair of military hair brushes; Mrs Quinn with a, leather travelling bag and a lady's companion ; Miss May Quinn with a leather handbag; and Masters Jack ahd Roy Ouinn were also given a present eacli. The gifts were suitably acknowledged.
