WOODBURY NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Every available man is busy harvestnig, ©very ctay, even including Sundays. Stacks are going up all round. A large' amount of gram nas been m stook for some time, and even that which 4s not quite ready is being rushed m, because of the unsettled state of the weather. A week's fine "weather will see most of it in stack. Last Tuesday some of the members of the - Tennis and Glee Clubs and their friends met togethef in the school, and ail enjoyable evening was spent in games,, dances, competitions, etc. The object was to show theii appreciation of Miss Scott's services to both clubs, especially to - the Glee Club, of which she has been pianiste since its inception, and express regret at her approaching departure from the district. During- the evening, Mr TJndrill, conductor of the Glee Club, presented Miss Scott with some good toilet articles as a token of appreciation from members of the two clubs. Mr Pilkington endorsed his remarks, and Mr Scott, on behalf of his daugli-' ter, expressed her gratitude for their kindness. The lady members *liad provided a "substantial supper,' which was done full justice to. The singing of "Auld Lang- Syne" brought a very pleasant evening to a close. On Thursday a - most enjoyable "At Home" took place, during the afternoon, in the grounds of Mrs "A 7 . P. Turton._ There was a large and representative gathering of members and friends of the Women's Political League and the Girls' Friendly So* ciety, with the object of saying, goodbye to Mr . and Mrs J. Scott and | family, who will soon be leaving the I district. Games and competitions I were engaged in, and afternoon tea dispensed. Mrs Turton, in a few well-chosen words, expressed the regret all felt in losing Mr and Mrs Scott, and family, and hoped they would even yet change their minds and remain. She presented them with a very pretty birthday book, and hoped all present would put their names in it. Enthusiastic cheers were g : -ven for the guests, concluding a very pleasant afternoon's enjoyment.
