HORTICULTURAL.
WAIMATE ATJTUMN SHOW. The Waimate Horticultural Society this year tried the experiment of holding an Autumn instead of a Spring Snow, and the result was quite satisfactory, the entries being 50 per cent, more numerous than at the previous spring show. The varieties of .flowers available for exhibition are not the same as in spring, but there are autumn fl.owers that make a fine aip-. pearance, and fruit can be made ..a more prominent feature. The Drillshed, in which the show was opened o i Wednesday, presented a fine ar pearance, and the show did the Society and the exhibitors great credit. Messrs McKenzie (Oaraaru) and Hao> per (limaru) were tne jades and awarded the prizes as under:— CLASS A.—GARDENERS. Out Flowers. —Collection of Annuals —Gebbie and Son 1.
