S.C.J.C, COMMITTEE. LOST TICKETS. A meeting of the committee of the South Canterbury Jockey Club was heltf last evening. Present: Messrs H, Lowry (chairman), G. S, Cray, E, H, Beicl, A, M. Jameson, J. P. Newina.n, C. H. Grosson, C. E. Thomas, and the secretary, C. S. Frasor. Messrs H. Elworthy, A, Scott, unci E. R. Guinness were apologised for. A considerable quantity of correspondence was read. A number of claims for lost and mutilated tickets on Tornado were considered, and after a long discussion, it was decided that each claimant be written to and advised that, acting in accordance with the rules of racing which preclude the payment of lost and mutilated tiekots, and seeing that there are fourteen applicants for seven unpaid tickets, the money be equally divided between tho Timaru Hospital . and St. John's Ambulance Society. The chairman reported that the ground committee had spent several hours on tho ground and they submitted a plan showing a number of improvements, viz., sh'ft the present stewards' stand, of stand outside for ,tho public. .. .■■.-.•■t'-on of motor for pumping water. ;•',( nation of birdcage and convenience?, etc., etc., Mr J.
