PIGEON SHOOTING.
N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP. FtRED YESTERDAY.
Conditions, generally, being condu* rive to good shooting, the gunmen who spent the day at Saltwater Creek yesterday, put up some really excellent scores and passed the day most pleasantly. The occasion—was the annual matoh for, the N.Z. Championship, controlled' by the Dominion Association, and, among the participants were several "cracks," including last year's champion, Mr A. Eraser, of Riverton. The officials gave all possible satisfaction, no contestant having reason to complain. The championship trophy was presented by Messrs C. E. Shallcrass and T. Cuilen of Tirnaru, presidents of the local clubs. There were thirty competitors and the championship went to H. H. Collins, who registered the maximum score, twenty-one, that being the number of birds shot at. In addition to the trophy, Collins won £43 12s aaid the second-placers, D. Fraser, A. Collins, E.
