LONDON WOOL SALES. Press Association —By Tel.—Copyright Received 12.40 a.m., Jan. 30th. LONDON, Jan. 29. At the wool sales, of a catalogu of 86,335 bales, 80,217 bales were sold. It was an excellent sale, America operating more freely in crossbreds, and the Continent prominently in merino. AUSTRALIAN RADIUM ORE. | SYDNEY, Jan. 28. At a meeting of the directors of the Radium Company a metallurgist reported that three tons of ore yielded an average of eight milligrams of radium, bromide per ton. This was worth £2O a milligram. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., report on t>heir weekly horse market held at Tattersail's yards on Saturday as follows: There was a.'yarding of 32 horses, comprised chiefly of good young draughts. in progress, there was u poor attendance of buyers. Young draughts sold at from £26 to £37. A couple of choice 'young draughts were passed in unsold at £4O and £43. Aged horses brought from £lB to £25, and harness horses from £7 10s to £l2. The New Zealand Loaa and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. has received cable advice from their London office dated 27fib, January, as follows: — "Wool—London Sales—The wool market generally is better, and the A: leinand is increasing. As comparrule as follows:—Greasy i ior and scoured merinos about 5 per cent, lower; lambs' wool, greasy super merino and greasy coarse crossbred and scoured fine crossbred about the ame; scoured coarse crossbr medium, scoured ditto, gr crossbred and greasy mediu par to 5 per cent, lower, show an improvement of from j per cent, since the opening of the present London series."
