Wharf labourers at work on the stsamerrs Marloo and Arawatta struck, demanding 4d an hour extra for handling cement and superphosphates. The- company granted the extra 4d, but refused to include it in tho agreement. Other wharf labourerrs joined the strike, and all except timber vessels are idle. About six hundred men are affected by the- strike.
