LONDON WOOL SALES. The O.F.C.A. are in receipt of the followiug cable from their London ot- ■ fie© under date 11th inst.:-" The wool prospects for the January sales are less favourable." . Dalgety and Co. havo received the following cable from London, datei. 10th inst,:-"The list of arrivals to tho first series of wool sales, whict open on tho 17th inst., is now arrivals amounted to 382,000 bales, of which 193,000 bales were forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving (with 8000 bales carried forward from last sales) 197,000 bales available for sale. LONDON MEAT MARKET. Messrs Gilbert Anderson and Co. report by mail on December 2nd:—Slow dragging trade in all classes of meat. Supplies of Home grown have been short, and prices have been maintained —English ewes 3ijd. Dutch mutton and lamb continue to arrive, the prices being mutton 4Jd to s'd, lamb s}d to 6d. Chilled beef, heavy supplies ; prices lower. The low price of chilled beef is greatly disturbuig the frozen beef trade.. New Zealand mutton and lamb stocks are very small, but prices remain unchanged. Australian shipments for November are reported to be a record; complete shipments are not to hand, but are estimated to be over 400,000 sheep and 800,000 lambs, a large quantity to move off when supplies of all classes of poultrv, game, rabbits and hares are on the market. The future depends entirely on shipments. TOP PRICES AT TOE WELLINGTON WOOL SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., ,Led., Wellington, report that at their December sale 17 bales of half-bred wool from Mr B. Coleman's Mt. Vernon Estate, Blenheim, realised 12d per lb (this being top price for the sale), another 10 bales realising ll}d per lb. Mr Coleman, like so many more of the Dominion's most up-to-date sheepowners', is a firm believer in the merits of Quibell's Powder Dip as an exterminator of parasites and an improver of the growing fleece, and writes as follows: — " I have used Quibell's Powder Dip for the last six years, and am satisfied that it is the best dip on the market, and I have used most others."
