MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting o£ the Mackenzie. County Council, held at Fair he j yesterday, was attended by Messrs i'. Qillinghain (chairman), A. K* Guthne, Tas. Smith, A. S. Smith, j and E. Schlaepfer. Apologies <ur absence were received from Messrs Stewart and Ruthrford. Department intended. with the iissistanoe of. the Council, to provide an additional culvert for the. tail race from Mr Doyic s mill at Eveisley, and' suggested besides providing the labour the Council should also purchase the necessary pipes, costing about £l3, no 're'fht being charged.—lt was decided to accept .the offer, as a -suitable way ;of settling a vexed question.
