Shearing is in full swing in iho back country, and wool is coming down in large quantities to the railway. The installation of the officers of Gladstone Lodge, No. 38, 1.0. F., place on Wednesday evenihg. Dro. E. Gillingham, acting N.G. presided over a good attendance. A short siok import was received, and sick pay given as required. On© nomination- for membership was received, and ouo candidate for initiation was admitted, "he balance-ehect and returns for the period ended Dec. 31st were read find tabled by bv the secretary, and wme adopted. The balance-sheet showed that the finances were in a healthy condition. Tho management and nied'-ai aid funds disclosed a credit balance ot £165, and the benevolent fund one i.f £lB. Tbe membership had increased by thirteen daring tho half-year, and n£w stood at 04. Nearly £7O had hern paid ont during the half-year for sickness and medical expenses.
