A DANGEROUS CROSSING.
To the Editor of the "Timaru Herald." ! -Sir,—Regarding the fatal accidents at tlie Temuka railway station, anil means of preventing -such. At the station the staff consists of stationmaster, either one or two clerks in the • office, and two porters. Now w lia« .s to hinder one of the staff, when any or the express trains specially, or even slow trains from the south is approaching, going to the crossing with a danger flag, and so keepjjig people from crossing It it nt leqjuired for the trains from north, as any one crossing can seo far up the line. This could be done-without any extra expense from the Department, and would tlnis be the means of avoiding danger.—-I am, etc., - , ■ COMMON SENSE. .
