* SUPPLY OF BUTTER. Per Press Association. CHRTSTCTiriiCH, Oct, 15. At the annual meeting of the Central Dairy Company, it was decided to pay (j per cent, dividend and a bonus of jd per pound on butter fat supIhe chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, stated that the dairy companies had been criticised for not. invariably supplying butter of their own manufacture, Gut it was imperative to obtain supplies from the North Island in the winter season to jill oiders. The butter whicli tho company had procured from the North Island during last year had been of excellent guahty. If tho system of homo separating was adopted by suppliers generally, lie feared that very strict supervision would tie required to prove,l?..il marked deterioration in tho quality of the butter.. Uis private opinion was that tho price received in England for butter during the cominoyear would show a slight decrease on last year s rates.
