A. Union." This decision would probably havo been arrived at without the concurrence of affiliated Societies, who have nothing to gain by the action of the jN'oriu Canterbury Centre. It only means trouble for North Canterbury competitors who wish to compete in other districts. Athletic sports are weakor in North. Canterbury than in any oth/jr part of New Zealand, and have been 60 for long years. A paragraph in a contemporary says • that the Wellington Centre of the League of "Wheelmen states that the : K.Z. Athletio Union will not be able to hold, any cycle races in the North ' Island, and "the "Wellington Centre .threatens to- disqualify for life my ■ cyclists competing under Union rules.
