| TIMARTJ CLUB'S OPEXIXG. The weather yesterday was all in favour' of outdoor games: and, principally on account of this, the formal opening of the season 1910-11,, of the Ttmaru Tennis Club was a decided success., !• our courts were in use, and the recent top-dressing, feneiug-in. and funeral improvement of them wen; much appreciated, and made for the comfort of the players. Among tho active participants in the various sets, were players from Christchurch and Temuka,, and some first-class play was witnessed. The attendance of well-wishers of the club was a'so gcod. and they appeared to take a keen interest in the play. This consisted for ihts Jtjost part of combined ladies' and men's doubles.
