ASSESSMENT COURT.
WAIMATE JJOHOL'GH. A .sitting of the Waimato Assessment Court was held yesterday to deal with objections to the \Yu.imate Borough valuation roll. Air T. Hutchison S.M. presided with Me.srs C. Dash and G. Lyall, Assessors. The valuer (Mr E. A. Atkinson) with the officer in charge of tho Yaluatioii Department ill Canterbury (Mr YY'igginsj appeared to support the valuation. A number who had lodged objections did not appear, and of those dealt with the following are the results:— YV. M. Hamilton (Mr Fitch) objection to the unimproved value of £4llO on section containing 29 poles in High street. —Mr Hume, sub-manager fur Guinness and Le Cren gave evidence on behalf of the objector and valued the kind at £3OO to £320. Comparisons were made between the section in question and one on the opposiitc side of the road, reeetly sold at £250. The Court upheld the valuation. A. Horry objected to the. valuation of £OSO, capital value, placed on his High street property, and asked that the unimproved value be reduced from £2OO to £l2O, and imnrovemenis from £3OO to £2OO. The Court reduced the unimproved value liy £25, making the capital value £525. J. Jameson objected to the unimproved value placed upon GJ acres, and asked that it be reduced from £192 to £lO7. After hearing the objector the Court reduced the value, from £192 to £175. The Canterbury Farmers' Association (Mr Fitch) objected to the unimproved value of £IOO nlaced on their railway sidinc;.—Reduced to £IOO. Th-c National Mortgage and Agoncv Co. (Mr Fitch") objected to the unimproved value of £l2O placed on their railway siding.—"Reduced to £75.
