ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET, j Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 17. : Sheep.—Tlic entry oi : store sheep was made up principally or hoggets with a few lilies of ewes and wethers. The hoggets were of fair average quality, ana included a number of lines of down crosses. The wethers were chiefly in good condition, but the ewes were nearly all aged. There was practically no change in values. Vendors in some cases were looking for still higher prices, and in consequence their lots failed to find buyers. Forward wethers made 15s to lbs 7d, low conditioned lialfbreds 12s lOd, six and eight tooth ewes were passed at 18s lOd, aged sorts made 7s yd to 10s 9d, wether hoggets lis 9d to 12s lid, smaller 10s 3d to lis, mixed sexes 10s Gd to 14s 7d, others 10s 7d to lis Gd, good ewe hoggets 14s to 14s Gd, and others 12s 9d to 13s Gd. There was a. large yarding of fat sheep of mixed quality, and at the opening of the sale there was good competition among the butchers, whose supplies had out in consequence of the small yarding the week before. At the end of the sale prices eased some,wh»t. A little business was done for export. A West Coast buyer was also operating and graziers took several lots of unfinished wethers. This extra competition, assisted to maintain prices after the butchers had filled their requirements. Pigs.—A medium entry sold at late rates; choppers 50s to 90s, heavy weaners 47s to 535, lighter 37s to 425. porkers 34s to 365, smaller 25s to 31s large stores 22s to 28s, smaller 14s to «:os and weaners 6s 6d to 12s.
