CHRISTCHTJRCH MARKETS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 16. There is a little firmer tone in the local wheat market. Several millers are making enquiries with a view to replenishing their stocks. They are. however, wanting only gocd wheat anil a few sales mostly of small lots at 3 = '2d and 3s 3d at country stations have been made. Such prices are only given for slightly weathered lots or lots that contain a large proportion of grain that was saved without damage by vain and consequently above fair average finality. Then- is a considerable quantity of grain held in store Which will have to b? disposed of before the wool sea.ron commences. Oats are still without any move and oatsheaf chaff "is rather easier.
Potatoes are still advancing in price and are now quoted at £5 los to £G at stations.
