CORRIEDALES.
THE CANTERBURY CC/P, The Canterbury A. and P. Association lias adopted tlie following conditions for th<3 Corriedale Cup:— l (, or the purpose of this competition the dehnitioii of Corriedale to be as follows:—l\> be the progeny of halfbred rams from haif-bred ewes, and the result of not less than five crosses of ill-breeding, and showing a decided fixed type of hall-bred sheep, the j original stock to be the progeny of the merino and longwool sheep of any pure breed. The breeding of the rams to be stated at time of entry. Each exhibitor will be required to enter three Corriedale ram hoggets; all ranis to be bred by exhibitor. The; entry fee payable by eaoli exhibitor - will be £1 for each ram, three exor no competition. j The wool from the rams competing' will become the property of the Association. The rams will be taken charge of by the committee, shorn and grazed as tlie committee may deem desirable, but at the owners' risk. Tlie rams will again be exhibited at the Association's show the following year; they will be shorn by the committee, the fleeces being carefully weighed, and afterwards valued in the grease by an expert. The shorn rams will be judged by a fat sheep judge, who will be asked to fix - tlie value of the sheep from a mutton point of view. The ram showing the greatest money value, carcase and wool taken into consideration, to be the winner. A cup will be provided lor the competition.
