Ln the third round of the mixed doubles Doust and Mrs Chambers beat Thomas and Miss Tulloeh, 6-4, 6-1. slrs Chambers won the ladies' championship, defeating Miss Boothby, the holder. In the challenge round at tennis, Wilding beat Gore, 6-4. 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. There was an enormous attendance at Wimbledon. Wilding 1 at the outset lost four games# "then lie settled down to a hard, and accurat-e back-conrt game. _ Core generally held his own at the net. and won the third set bysuperior volleying. Wilding was cool and confident, and the result was never in doubt.
