A SUCCESSFUL SALE. The National Mortgage and Agency Company yesterday afternoon held a sale ol town properties on account of Messrs I<. Cullmann, David Doull, 1 atnek Cairns and Mrs Elizabeth Hutton. Mr liionias Turnbull wielded the hammer in his well-known able manner and it may be truly said that the sale was one of the most successful held in Timaru for a considerable time. In -almost every lot competition was keen, and as will be seen from the appended list of sales very few lots were passed. ihe auctioneers' advise that they expect to clear the balance of lots in a .few days. The results prove that when town lots are put on the market at reasonable- terms and handled in a straight out and proper manner the public are ready to buy. The sales were as follows: —Lot 1 to Mrs Lithgow at £155, Lot 2 to Mrs Lithgow at £l2O, Lot 8 to Mr \V Hunt at £l7O, Lot 9 to Mr TV. Hunt at £l5O, Lot 10 to Mr Jasv Curris at £145, Lot 11 to Mr J. South at £llO, Lots 12, 13, 14, to Timaru RorouL'ii Council for £SOO, Lot 15 to Mr J J Toarce at £l4O, Lot 19, 20, 21. to Timaru Borough Council for £SOO, Lot 22 to Timaru Borough Council for street widening purposes, Lot 23 and 24 to Mr J. "Williams at £75 "ach, Lot 25 and 26 to Mr Childos at £75 each. Lot 27 and 2S to Mr Jessop at £175 each, Lot to Mr W. "Walton at £165, Lot 30 to Mr W. Angland at £IBO. Lot 31 to Mrs Quirk at £l5O, Lot 32 to Mr J Teague at Lot 2i>a and 30a to Shilloto Bros, at £SO each. Lot in North street with 4-roomed house account Mr David Doull to Mr H. G. Scarf at £3OO. The various other lots as advertised did not quite roach tbo reserve and were passed in, but will be cleared at an early date.
