All persons who served .in. naval and military forces in New Zealand and retired to settle in the Dominion before December 31st, 1872; All persons who were enrolled in th© Forest Rangers under conditions prescribed by the Minister of Defence in 1863; _ All officers of Volunteers or efficient Volunteers who woro enrolled before October 31st, 1876, and completed five years' continuous service; All persons enrolled under the Colonial Defence Act, 1862, who served in Auckland under Colonel Nixon and Major Walmsley, and who completed their service; Any person who at any timo had sent in a claim under Naval and Military Claims Settlement and Extinguishment' Act, 1896, or any similar Act, and had had it rejected; Any person who through death or injuries had been prevented from completing his service, or the legal representative or widow or children of such a person;
