warmly resented the idea that the men should he given all the credit for everything, and she offered t-o bet a couple of Cslifornian friends that she could walk the distance in rifty-fivo hours. She added the caustic comment: "Most society men nowadays are mollycoddles, anyhow." Miss S:-ars entered noon her groat undertaking at six o'clock en Thursday morning.
