SCHOOL CONCERT-A PROTEST.

Sir, — { was present at a concert which was held at Puivoru on the I'lith inst., in aiil oi the Public School lunds. .1 wish to inquire through the medium of your valuable paper!' who was responsible lor the verv objectionable items which were rendered Lv members of a •Timaru Concert Troupe/' i have attended numerous concert halls and theatres in our large centres, but never in the course of my experience liave ! listened to stieh demujahziug and debasing matter, rendered under the name of comic song-. it :s a thousand pities that our vouii"children should be oxnosod to such influences at their annual concert. 1 assure you 1 voice the feeling expressed by a number of parents present Hoih'hl: this protest will be the means ot a more elevating entertainment being arranged for in i'muiv.—l am etc. PA KENT.
