To the Editor of the ■•TmiaruJterald." Sir,—Amongst, tlio signs of prosperity and progress in TiiiKiru we miss the three balls of the pawnshop. That such is required here was evidenced the other day when a very tipsy young man was observed in a right-oi-wuv investing himself of Ids woollen singlet, ai'ier which he paraded Stafford Street with the garment on his arm, and vainly tried to raise another bob to quenr'h his thirst.—The moral is obvious.—l am, etc., ECONOMIST.
