CONFERENCE AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 27. The conference of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union concluded today. Mr O. F. Clothier was elected president, and Mr R. Evans, and Mr F. G. llorrell were appointed delegates to the Dominion Conference. Remits from the Tarannki Fanners' Union av.d from the Ashburton and Rakaia. brandies rewarding alleged improper methods pursued by tlio State Fire Offices in getting business, wore agreed to. The allocations were that the apents of tlio State Office are, supplied witli information from the Advances to Settlers' Department, as to farmers who had received advances from the Department, and tliese wera circularised by the ajcoiits. A remit was also agreed to that Charitable Aid Boards should receive fees paid by licensees of hotels.
