THE PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS.

Tho Rev. Mr Youngman, of Queensland, hits been elected president of the Australasian Methodist Conference.
The retiring president's address, while congratulatory on the substantial increase in church membership and attendance, deplored tho falling off in the attendance, at the SundaySchools. On the three yc«irs period there was a loss of scholars, but there was some comfort in the fact that every conference for the last year reported an increase, the total being 2327. Tile president referred to the growing tendency to deal with social evils by legislative Acts. On the whole laws were the expressions of tho people's thoughts, and there was little hope for the enforcement of Acts of Parliament unless tho people were behind them.
