SHIPPING CASUALTIES.
COLLISION AT SEA. COLLIER GOES DOWN. fcress Association-By Telegraph-Copyright SYDNEV, March 9. The steamer Wyreema, outward bound, collided with the colLier Kurrajong, from the South Coast, ofi Bradley's Head. . The collier sank in five minutes. One man is missing, but the rest of the crew were rescued by ferry boats. The Wyreema lias returned to port considerably damaged. DETAILS OF THE SMASH. The Wyreema struck the Kurrajong a terrible blow at right angles, amidships, and almost cut her in two. A vast volume of water poured into the colliery extinguishing" the fires. The vessel settled by tlie head immediately, and within a few minutes plunged headlong to the bottom. The Wyreema immediately lowered a boat and rescued the crow, with the exception of one man. The night was dark. number of motor boats and other craft were quickly on the spot, and picked the missing man up. The damage to the Wyreema was not serious, consisting of three small holes in the bow above the waterline. The collision was apparently due to the Ivurrajong, in seeking to avoid a sailing craft, getting right across the AYyreema's course. BODY RECOVERED. The body of Neilson, the steersman of the Kurrajong, lias been recovered.
