The immediate cause of the resignation of the Spanish Ministry-was the Minister of the Interior's accusation that tlio Opposition leaders by leniency in 1006 were responsible for the attempt on King Alfonso's life. Senhor Moret in a brilliant reply on behalf of the Liberals, in denying the accusations, forced Senhor Maura to resign.
