PRIMITIVE METHODISTS.

BAZAAR AT WAIMATAITAI. The interior of the Primitive Methodist Church at Waiinataitai presented a very animated and gay appearance yesterday afternoon, consequent upon the opening of the bazaar and sale of work therein, the proceeds from which are to be devoted to building the reeded classrooms as an adjunct to the church. It is estimated that £6O will bo required for the work, and the committee of management are sanguine that when all the accounts are riade up at the eud of the bazaar, afc least a good proportion of the sum needed will have been gathered in. The bazaar was opened by Mr T. Hawkey, Deputy-Mayor, who made a speech appropriate to the occasion and affably wished the function every success. As soon as the doors were opened the public thronged the building, and at once brisk business was done by the stall-holders in the disposal of their attractive wares. At the hack ol the church a large marquee had been erected. in which Mesdames Morgan, Sabeston and Irving presided over very acceptable refreshments. The plain goods stall was under the control of Mcsdanies Colwell, Harris and Vincent; Fancy Stall, Misses Colwell, and Mnr\ Harris; Flower Stall, Misses Watson and Minnie Harris; Lollie Stall, Misses Vincent (2); Galvanic Battery, Mr Spence. The committee, to whom much uraise is due for the completeness with which they carried out the arrangements, consisted of Messrs Colwell, Harris and Morgan and the Rev. J. H. Olphert. The post of secretary was ably filled by Mrs Harris. In the evening a pleasant time was spent, and many amusing competitions were decided. The bazaar will also be open to-day.
