"THE TALK OF THE TOWN." . \ _ - « The Hugh Ward Comedy Company had a full houso on Saturday evening' , to witness their presentation of an ex- , trcmely amusing comedy "Tho Talk of.the Tow:n," in which the members of this clever company had plenty, of op- , portunity for the exercise of their power* of raising laughter. Tho author .idopted a combination of incongruous elements for his dramatis- pcrsonae, "and the clash of interests wnL madote oc,cur in the realm of the ridiculous; consequently the audience was kept in a state of hilarity the wnolc time. Soma very good songs were introduced and these were done full justice-\to, Miss Palotto was in fine voice, and was'encored for )ior every song. Her clever ' laughter within her ~fiongs ' was infectious, and her hearers never- tired of it. Other singers also received the compliment or recalls. .Tho play was very well mounted, and the dressing was good, Miss Palotto's costumes attracting special attention. . ,
