An inquest was held 'to-day into the death of Vincent Eerrara who died fro7n drinking, lysol. Deceased was an Italian, who had resided in Auckland, where his wife is. A doctor said that lie had asked, deceased if he had swallowed lysol-.and his .answer was, ''Yes, I did." A verdict was returned that death had resisted from the effects of poison, hut there was not sufficient evidence to show whether.it was taken accidentally or intentionally, the Coroner having come to that conclusion owitiir.to the fact that a small flask of whisky was found in or on a ehest-of drawers with a hottle, of lysol. An accident occurred at Pive and Hat/ten's, Waimate woodwork factory, to a man named Watt. He was employed at the planer, when l>v some means' liis hand wns caught by the knivas ind three fingers were badly cut. .He was taken to the hospital for treatment and it is not pertain whether or not the fingers- will have to he amputated.
